The world’s best professional snocross racers will head to Salamanca, NY for two days/nights of action at the Seneca Allegany Casino Air Force Snocross National. This nationally televised event is a highlight of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross season.
The course at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino is one of AMSOIL Championship Snocross’ tightest racing quarters, and it offers the ultimate setting for a battle between man and machine. With a high-speed, big-air track and plenty of twists and ramps, it’s a surefire thrill.
Deadwood
Taking place on the second weekend of February, Deadwood is one of Amsoil Championship Snocross’ most popular stops. This two-day event features kids and top area amateurs as well as Pro Lite and Elite classes.
It’s a race where the 400-pound snowmobiles hurtle through manmade jumps at speeds that create an exciting spectacle. It’s also an economic windfall for the City of Salamanca and the surrounding areas.
The last time a Pro Lite rider swept the weekend in Deadwood was Elias Ishoel in 2016. Now, he’s #200 and has an impressive six-race win streak in the series.
Deadwood is a show that reflects the real history of the town of Deadwood, which was built around the gold rush. It’s a town that attracts lawful and not-so-lawful people alike.
Shakopee
Shakopee, Minnesota is home to a vibrant mix of small-town charm and big-city fun. It offers visitors an abundance of things to do, including a variety of museums, historic sites and top-notch restaurants.
You can also get your fill of adventure on the trails at The Landing-Minnesota River Heritage Park, or visit the ageless fun at Sever’s Corn Maze & Fall Festival. You can also catch a glimpse of the past with a visit to the ruins of Shakopee Brewery on the MN Valley Trail.
You can end your day with a drink or meal at Badger Hill Brewing Company, where you can sample their unique craft beers made right on site. Or if you’re into the thrill of a horse race, head to Canterbury Park. The track is a favorite for those who love to watch the hooves of thoroughbreds and quarter horses pound down the track.
Elk River
AMSOIL Championship Snocross Powered by Ram is starting its season with one of the most iconic, highest profile events on the circuit. Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota will host two days of snocross racing January 7-8 as the Pirtek Snocross National brings a full schedule to this venue that has a history that goes deep into the sport and draws a large crowd each year.
The series then travels east to Salamanca, New York for two days of snocross on February 18-19 at the Seneca Allegany Resort and Casino in Salamanca, New York. The race was missed last season due to COVID-related restrictions and should be a highly anticipated stop for area fans.
The following weekend, the circuit will head north to the renowned ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota, for two days of racing on March 4-5. The track offers the longest laps of the season, plenty of side attractions and excellent sight lines for fans to enjoy the action. The ERX track is also home to many nationally recognized powersports races and events throughout the year.
Dubuque
Snocross fans in Iowa have a strong appetite for action when sled races make their way to their state. That’s why the circuit will be making a stop at Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque, Iowa, on January 14-15.
Then the action will head east as the series heads to Salamanca, New York, for a pair of races on February 18-19. This is a location that was missed last year due to COVID-related restrictions, so area fans should be more than ready for action.
Located just 5 minutes from the town centre, this budget-friendly motel offers comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi and cable TV. It is a convenient base from which to explore Dubuque and nearby attractions such as Diamond Jo Casino, University of Dubuque and Port of Dubuque Marina.
The ACS series has a more condensed calendar this season, racing 17 rounds in eight weekends between December and April. This will reverse a trend the last few years that had racing begin in January and the final race weekend at a ski hill in Iowa on April 1-2.
